I would recommend an ER or a visit to a primary Doctor before any urgent care clinic. That’s just my opinion. But the care I got at the minute clinic seems very good and efficient and I would definitely go there again for any similar condition I might have if I could not get to my primary doctor.
Next to impossible to schedule what I needed. Pharmacists are not allowed to give vaccinations anywhere except arm. I need vaccinations in thigh, so I must go to a NP or PA. Unfortunately, scheduling is difficult and there is NO way to find out what is in stock at the Minute Clinic. You have to make the trip, then the NP has to check the fridge. This is very bad policy. It wastes everyone's time. I am under the impression the minute clinics stock the older vaccines and the newer versions are available at the pharmacy counter. I am older than 65 so I should be able to obtain Moderna mNexspike. Instead I was given Spikevax, because this is all the minute clinic bothered to stock. The pharmacy counter 15 feet away had mNexspike, but minute clinic is not allowed to use it.
During a recent trip to Maine, I discovered an engorged deer tick on my forearm (did careful removal and proper disposal while there). I immediately booked a minute clinic appointment at CVS on Great Road in Acton with availability a very reasonable amount of time. The nurse practitioner I saw was very professional, kind, taking immediate care and action. It's wonderful to have this type of clinic, so close and available.
