The practitioner was professional and thorough
May 23, 2021
The practitioner who cared for me was incredibly thorough and did not once make me feel like she was in a rush. She listened carefully and made sure I knew what her assessment was and the possible risks and what to do in case anything else developed. I am an unusually complicated patient with more allergies than most and a complicated history so taking the time to hear what I had to say as well as taking a thorough history and updating their records to reflect my current situation was key in providing proper care. I usually do not utilize a walk-in clinic unless I know I absolutely can not wait until my regular PCP is available and due to my complicated health history I try to avoid ER situations at all costs. This practitioner was sensitive to that and treated me as an individual and not the “average” patient which really meant a lot to me and made me feel comfortable in an otherwise uncomfortable and stressful situation. She also made sure to follow up with a phone call to check in on me the very next day which was above and beyond any other facility like this that I have ever had to utilize. My only complaint would be the wait for the medicine after the visit which had nothing to do with her but the pharmacy and the prioritizing of those who were waiting for their medications. I spent an hour waiting for one RX to be filled while watching everyone else come and go that had come in after me. When a patient isn’t feeling well and has been seen in the clinic and has been prescribed a medication, I would think they would take priority when filling prescriptions so that they can get the patient out of the clinic quickly and avoid having them wait with the general public for too long. Other than that my experience was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to see that practitioner again should the need arise. To me she was a 10 out of 10 and I don’t say that lightly considering the experiences I have endured elsewhere.

Hair loss and other skin conditions

Hair loss is natural as we age, and both men and women experience it. That doesn’t mean you have to like it, however. For men, it is typically hereditary, but there are other reasons for hair loss as well, including overuse of products such as perms, dyes and relaxers. Medical conditions, poor nutrition, even daily grooming habits that are too harsh can contribute to the problem.

Our practitioners can evaluate your hair loss and develop a customized treatment plan to combat this all-too-common problem, for which the medical term is alopecia. Our clinic team can treat a variety of additional skin conditions, as well, including rashes, chicken pox, impetigo, athlete’s foot and more.

About the Flu (Influenza)

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease. Generally, the flu may resolve on its own. However, if the flu goes untreated, you may be at risk for complications that can be life-threatening. Those that might be at a higher risk of severe flu complications include children under 5, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems. If you fall into any of these categories, it is essential that you take strides towards flu prevention by getting your flu shot at MinuteClinic. The flu shot works by exposing you to an inactive flu virus and the flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body after vaccination. These antibodies will help to protect you if you are exposed to the flu virus. Essentially, getting a flu shot prepares your body to fight the flu.

Why Get A Flu Shot?

Getting vaccinated helps to protect you and the people around you. Influenza sends a countless number of patients into hospitals each year – don’t be one of them. There are two types of flu shots – a seasonal vaccine for adults and children (preservative-free available, upon request) and a high dose vaccine (for ages 65+). While you can take preventative measures, getting immunized with the influenza vaccine is your best defense against the flu. Each year, new strains of the flu develop. While you may have gotten a flu shot in the past, you may not be protected from the new strands. Although flu vaccines may not be 100% effective, it is still the best defense against the virus. Don’t fall victim to the flu this year – stop by MinuteClinic and get your flu shot today!
